Hello everyone, My name is Jamesha Mills. I am a 27 year old college graduate. I have one child who is the love of my life. While in college I worked as a correctional officer(that story will have to come later.)I actually enjoyed that job. I ended up getting pregnant my last year of school. Once I graduated I moved back home, to have support when the baby came. The only decision I kind of regret is leaving the prison once my maternity leave was up. I should have just figured things out instead of taking the easy way out and moving back home. My next job was also at a prison. I was an administrative assistant for the drug rehabilitation program. I loved that job I cant lie. I was able to complete task on my time, I didn't have to deal with the offenders 24/7. The only problem was the pay and benefits. So I ended up moving to a Testing Specialist at the school. There I was dealing with offenders all day! I loved that job also. In February 2020 I ended up resigning from that job. I was there two years. Everyday I regret quitting that job(that's another story I will have to tell.)
I've been thinking about returning to school and getting my Masters degree is Psychology. I have always been interested in Mental health. I want to create a safe place for where people can talk and help each other out. I suffer from depression and nobody knows about it. Isn't that crazy? When I was first diagnosed in 2016, my mom basically called me a liar, and attention seeker. That's what I want to end..... People dealing with mental illness shouldn't be told "Your an attention seeker" that is completely wrong. This is why so many people are suffering. That's why so many people don't talk about their problems, they don't want to be a burden. I want to change that!
Hobbies that I enjoy! I enjoy cooking. I love cooking, the smell of fresh vegetables is just smoothing. I also enjoy kid friendly activities, such as taking my kid to gymnastics(covid has put a stop to that for the moment), Chuck E cheese is an all time favorite. I love watching the ID channel. You can also catching me watching movies on lifetime or anything by Tyler Perry.
What are things that I will be blogging about? I will be writing about many things. Life, travel, cooking.I think I will even share some of my short stories. Well that is it for now I will talk to you later.
